Who I am
I’m Adam, a first-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Waterloo and a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CSWA), currently seeking a Summer 2025 co-op position. During high school, I interned at Atlantic Air Industries, where I worked on ERJ145 and ATR42 aircraft—an experience that fueled my passion for aviation. I’m also time-building toward a Transport Canada Commercial Pilot License (Aeroplane) after earning my Private Pilot License in high school, flying a Cessna 172S out of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. In the process, I’ve gained glass cockpit experience with the Garmin G1000 and various GNS units.
Beyond aviation, I collaborated with a team of four in my introductory mechanical engineering course to design a fully functional toy, modeling and 3D-printing 20+ parts in SOLIDWORKS. As an avid flight simulator enthusiast, I’ve been refining real NACA airfoils in Airfoil Maker for X-Plane 11, using various tools like XFOIL, aiming for the most realistic flight models possible. I also developed a filter to mitigate the effects of lead emissions by general aviation aircraft, during my time at SHAD. This project was when I used OpenFOAM and did CFD simulations in collaboration with an Engineering Prof.
