What?

• Develop a filter concept to reduce TEL emissions from GA aircraft • Build a 9-component assembly and an early physical prototype • Produce drawings, exploded views, and a presentation package • Validate the concept direction with CFD analysis • Define a path toward bench tests and field evaluation

How?

• Model in Fusion 360 and AutoCAD; generate manufacturing drawings • 3D print a prototype for fit checks and assembly practice • Run OpenFOAM CFD with a collaborating professor to study pressure drop and capture behavior • Define materials, change-out intervals, and maintenance approach • Prepare pitch and technical brief for Ivey Business School stakeholders

Results

• Feasibility supported by initial CFD indicators • Prototype enabled structured design reviews and feedback • Defined next steps for bench testing and emissions measurement • Documentation clarified risks, assumptions, and maintenance needs • Team coordination across design, simulation, and pitching improved velocity
